Niluh Pangestu is a Bali-born visual artist celebrated for her mastery of linocut printing, a technique that beautifully expresses her unique take on femininity and cultural heritage. Drawing deep inspiration from the women around her and the rich traditions of Bali, Niluh’s art seamlessly blends melancholic and feminine elements, creating an eclectic and emotionally resonant style.
Encouraged by her father from a young age, Niluh has pursued her artistic passion with unwavering dedication. In 2022, she was selected to create artwork for prestigious events such as the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival and the Sekala Niskala Exhibition by Project Eleven Foundation. These opportunities showcased her ability to merge contemporary aesthetics with traditional themes, establishing her as a distinctive voice in the Indonesian art scene.
Her work gained further recognition in 2024 when she exhibited at “On Tradition: Contemporary Art from Indonesia” in Newtown, NSW, Australia. Her pieces, “Plant Together” and “Fight the Flame,” were praised for their deep cultural references and modern interpretations.
Beyond her personal work, Niluh actively conducts art workshops in Bali, sharing her passion and inspiring others. As one of Teman Merakit’s key collaborators, she brings her unique artistic vision to the fashion world. Her linocut techniques and cultural storytelling enrich every collaborative project, beautifully merging fashion, art, and narrative.
